Go Bears! With 4-Bears CS/SB

A savings of $30.00 off the wineries Suggested Retail Price

4-Bears is a family business which produces a delicious Napa Valley Cabernet and a superb Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc. The wines are priced at extremely attractive price-points and are of hugely disproportionate quality when compared with varietals of the same appellations.

We tasted the Bears last Friday and were floored by their rich, fruit-driven flavors and the super-clean finish. The first wine tasted was the stunning 2005 Dry Creek Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

Dry Creek is famous for being one of the finest regions in the state for the production of Sauvignon Blanc. It seems that the warm-hot days tempered by the cool marine fogs which blow up the valley during the summer months are the perfect environment for SB grapes to ripen slowly, allowing the rich, tropical fruit, citrus, honeydew and sweet grass flavors to emerge fully. Whey you pour a splash of the Bears, close your eyes and bring the lip of your glass just under your nostrils...you will immediately say "pink grapefruit, orange, freshly-mown grass and crisp apple"...The grapefruit character is clearly evident in the flavors as well. Along with a perfect acid/pH balance, stainless and neutral barrel fermentation and careful canopy management, the Bears create an SB which easily compares to several on the shelf in the $18-$20 price point. It IS amazingly delicious and lip smacking refreshing.

I hadn't read their propaganda prior to writing the above...yet I think they nailed it in their description. Obviously written by "paw"...

"The 4-Bears Sauvignon Blanc is rich and complex with aromas of ruby grapefruit, citrus and tropical fruit. On the pallet, the combined flavors of fresh melon, fig and lime are balanced perfectly to form a crisp, mouthwatering texture and a lingering finish.

The perfect wine to serve a Polar Bear!

Our Sauvignon Blanc fruit was 100% whole-cluster pressed to minimize astringency from the skins. Once settled, a portion of the juice was placed in small neutral French oak barrels, while the majority was moved to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. This combination allows the wine to develop a balance of crispness and tropical fruit flavors. The wine in barrels was sur-lie aged and stirred constantly. The final blend was a combination of lots that provided a perfect balance of richness, bouquet and mouth-feel.

4-Bears 2002 Napa Valley Cabernet (Meritage)

True Bordeaux blend in that the wine is composed of Cabernet, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cab Franc. From the fabulous 2002 vintage, this delicious, fruity Cabernet features soft tannins and a rich, forward "drink me" character. If more California Cabernet producers made their wine in this fashion, I think you'd see Cab sales go through the roof in short order. Most Cabs are consumed in less than a year after purchase, so why kid ourselves about cellaring? Cellar the expensive wines, drink the Bears!

Winnie the Pooh would give up his jug O'Honey for a Jar of this

"Our Napa Valley Cabernet displays aromas of raspberry, cassis and cigar box. Once in your mouth, the wines jammy raspberry fruit flavors and the combination of oak and tannin nuances create a well balanced, rich and full bodied wine that draws you in to its cave for another glass.

A favorite of the Grizzly

Grapes from sites throughout Napa Valley and the hillside forests were harvested at optimal maturity, than destemmed and gently crushed into open-top fermenters, at warm temperatures, to fully extract color and flavor. The fermented wine then was racked to a combination of French and American oak for aging of which 20% was new. During the aging process the wine lots were tasted throughout and blended back together just prior to bottling.

This is NO time for levity...the 4-Bears are luscious, stuffed-with-fruit varietal wines which, given their modest price and superb quality compel any wine lover to purchase in case lots in order to stock their den for the remainder of the winter months. The wines will NOT however, cause one to fall into a hibernate state.

The Minor Family

In August 2007, she had a C-section, and though she worried about complications, Monica delivered a healthy baby girl. But hours after Sofia was born, Monica began running a fever. No one was concerned at first -- Monica figured it was just hormones -- but three days later the fever hadn't broken, and Monica's abdomen was swollen and painful. iReport.com: What do you think about this story? Sound off on video

The doctors at Monica's hospital thought she might be infected with a deadly strain of bacteria. They flew her to a hospital in Boston where she was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, also known as flesh-eating bacteria.

Defying the odds, Monica survived, but many of her organs didn't. The doctors removed Monica's uterus, ovaries, gallbladder and part of her colon that same day.
