Wines

Our wines come from premium vineyard sites strategically located near the cool marine influences of the sun filled California coast. With each new vintage, we offer wines of consistent flavor and exceptional quality from vineyards that are perfectly suited to that particular varietal. In order for a wine to be considered it must exude the characteristics of the grape variety, and then of its chosen vineyard site within a specifically selected appellation. You can always expect to enjoy a cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay under our label, but you’ll also find other varietals from various appellations such as our Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc and Napa Valley Merlot.

Four Bears

Currently, we offer four wines under the Four Bears label. I believe you’ll find these wines to be, as I like to call them, sophisticated approachability. These are wines that are Monday through Thursday on your pocket book but good enough to serve your family and friends on Friday and Saturday night. In our industry, wines that are deemed "affordable," often do not offer the exceptional quality that you enjoy from much more expensive ones. We all have experienced these types of wines: simple fruit bombs, lifeless mid-palate, a finish that is short or contains harsh green tannins, or none at all. We are sometimes spoiled when we move from a $40 bottle of wine on the weekend to the drudgery of a more affordable wine during the week. Such was the challenge facing Nicole and I, and we decided to take the problem into our own hands when we started our winery. We have enjoyed excellent results and our quality wines have been confirmed by some of the top wine writers and critics in the country. You'll find tasting notes for each of our current releases on our website Enjoy! We welcome your opinion and feedback regarding whether or not we achieved our goal of providing wines that exceed expectations. Send us an email or visit our blog spot and let us know. Cheers!

The Minor Family

In August 2007, she had a C-section, and though she worried about complications, Monica delivered a healthy baby girl. But hours after Sofia was born, Monica began running a fever. No one was concerned at first -- Monica figured it was just hormones -- but three days later the fever hadn't broken, and Monica's abdomen was swollen and painful. iReport.com: What do you think about this story? Sound off on video

The doctors at Monica's hospital thought she might be infected with a deadly strain of bacteria. They flew her to a hospital in Boston where she was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, also known as flesh-eating bacteria.

Defying the odds, Monica survived, but many of her organs didn't. The doctors removed Monica's uterus, ovaries, gallbladder and part of her colon that same day.
